I strongly believe studenst should learn by doing, and guided activities offer the best opportunity to support student learning. Although this project is dedicated to helping students write without the assistance of AI, its important that students understand what AI is and how it works. So there will be a mix of activities tied to writing skills, technology usage, and understanding AI.
As I find and come up with new activities, I'll share them here for everyone to take a look. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test every single activity in my own classroom — ultimately, as teachers you'll need to decide which activities work best for you and how to modify them. Can the AI sound human? In this early-semester activity, students build collaboration skills while seeing if they can fool their instructor with one AI-generated submission and a human-generated submission.
